DUBAI has unveiled plans for a full month of celebrations in the lead-up to the UAE National Day.

The emirate will mark National Month for the second consecutive year, beginning on Flag Day on 3 November and continuing until Eid Al Etihad on 2 December. The celebrations are designed to unite residents and visitors in honour of the nation’s achievements and values, with a diverse programme of national, cultural and community events.

The initiative was announced by Sheikh Ahmed bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Second Deputy Ruler of Dubai and Chairman of the Dubai Media Council, who said the campaign will serve as a collective expression of solidarity, loyalty and belonging.

A month of celebrations

Brand Dubai, the creative arm of the Government of Dubai Media Office, will spearhead the campaign in collaboration with government, semi-government and private sector partners. The city will host events highlighting the UAE’s heritage and progress, offering opportunities for residents to take part in creative, cultural and national showcases.

Sheikh Ahmed confirmed that the #ZayedAndRashid campaign will return, paying tribute to the late Sheikh Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan and Sheikh Rashid bin Saeed Al Maktoum, whose leadership laid the foundations for the country’s growth.

Where will events take place?

Preparations are already underway, with plans to expand to more venues across Dubai. Entrepreneurs and SMEs from Brand Dubai’s Proudly from Dubai network will be involved, offering creative contributions and experiences. According to Shaima Al Suwaidi, Director of Brand Dubai, this year’s campaign will provide opportunities for small businesses to showcase their work and reach wider audiences during the national festivities.

The celebrations will encompass community-wide participation, reinforcing Dubai’s spirit as a city that blends tradition with innovation. Details of the specific programmes and ticketed events are expected to be revealed closer to the launch date.

How was it received last year?

The first edition of National Month in 2024 witnessed participation from more than 200 organisations across Dubai. It featured spectacular light shows, cultural displays, community events and activations at major landmarks including Dubai Frame, Al Wasl Dome at Expo City, Dubai International Airport, Dubai Festival City Mall and City Walk.

Mona Ghanem Al Marri, Vice Chairperson and Managing Director of the Dubai Media Council and Director General of the Government of Dubai Media Office, revealed that last year’s campaign attracted two billion social media engagements. She noted that this year’s edition is expected to draw even greater participation across the emirate.
